Mourinho 'offered £100m' to take charge of national side

AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly been offered the chance to manage a certain national side, where he will become the highest-paid manager ever.

The Portuguese tactician has been with Roma for two seasons now, but has been linked with a return to the Premier League as well as the Brazil national team job.

However, Corriere dello Sport have reported that Mourinho has been approached by management from the Saudi Arabia national side about taking over as head coach.

The report claims that the former Real Madrid and Manchester United tactician has been offered a two-year contract that would see him earn a massive £52million.

There are also reports claiming that Saudi Arabia would give Mourinho a hybrid deal, which would see him manage the national team and a Saudi Pro League team at the same time.

The options for a Saudi club would be Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr and Al-Ahli, who have been linked with Paris Saint-Germain star Lionel Messi.

Mourinho recently spoke about his future after being linked with a return to Chelsea this week.

"I don't talk to friends, comrades, journalists," Mourinho told DAZN.

"If a few months ago our CEO [Pietro] Berardi said he was sure I would stay, that is his interpretation. If this time Mr. Zazzaroni [a journalist] said what he said is an interpretation of him, I'm not talking to anyone.

"The situation is clear, from a contractual point of view I still have one year on my contract. Football is football, sometimes contracts aren't the most important thing.

"All good, all calm, the next one is always the most important game."
