Jose Mourinho sends message to Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of Serie A return

New AS Roma Jose Mourinho has sent a message to Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of the upcoming Serie A season.

The Portuguese tactician was officially unveiled by the Italian outfit this week, as he returns to the league for the first time since leading Inter Milan to the treble in 2010.

Mourinho managed Ronaldo for three seasons at Real Madrid, where they won a LaLiga title and the Copa del Rey although they came up short in the UEFA Champions League.

The pair will now be rivals again and the former Manchester United manager was his usual self at the press conference and couldn't resist a little joke.

"Ronaldo doesn't have to worry about me, because I don't play at centre-back," he said, as per the Mirror.

"If I played, of course I would knock him down, but I don't have the quality for that. And I'm a little old for that."

Mourinho will be looking to get Roma back among Europe's elit after the club finished seventh in Serie A last season, 16 points adrift the top four.
