Ronaldo, who joined the Bianconeri from Real Madrid in a club-record deal back in 2018, is reported to be unsettled at Juventus as the club struggles to keep pace with runaway Serie A league leaders Inter Milan.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has scored a league-high 25 goals for the campaign but his contribution has not been enough to see him avoid criticism, with former Juve star Massimo Mauro accusing him of playing for himself.
"Ronaldo has never been a leader where he has played and he never will be," Mauro told Gazzetta dello Sport. "He is like a company and his turnover is more important to him than the success of the team.
"Cristiano doesn't drag his teammates along with him, he always wants them to give him the ball to score goals. He is a great individualist, he is not a team player.
"From the point of view of results, Juventus with him did not do better than in the past, they even did worse in the Champions League. That is why the best thing for both of them is that their paths separate."
Ronaldo's contract in Turin only expires at the end of next season but he has been linked with a move away at the end of the current campaign, with former clubs Manchester United and Los Blancos both credited with an interest.
The 36-year-old has 97 goals in 126 appearances since joining the Italian outfit and won the Serie A Footballer of the Year award in 2019 and 2020, as well as the inaugural Serie A MVP award following the 2018/19 campaign.
