Massimiliano Allegri: Cristiano Ronaldo told me he wants to stay

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo has made his intentions clear about staying at the club.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winnner is in the final year of his contract with Juventus, which has led to speculation about the player possibly leaving during the current transfer window.

Ahead of Sunday's Serie A opener away to Udinese, Allegri confirmed that Ronaldo has not once told the club that he wanted to leave.

"Ronaldo didn't play on Thursday because we were coming off a heavy training workload and I gave him half a day off," Allegri was quoted as saying by Goal.

"Ronaldo is an added bonus for us, because he guarantees a large number of goals. Obviously, we also have to work as a team to get the best out of an individual.

"He has always trained well, I just read the gossip in the papers. He never told us he wanted to leave.
