Official: Inter Milan terminate Christian Eriksen's contract

The 29-year-old suffered a cardiac arrest in the first half of Denmark's 2020 UEFA European Championship opener against Finland in June.

Sky Sports News has reported that Eriksen is not allowed to play in Italy with the implantable cardioverter-defibrillator due to Italy's health regulations.

It is being reported that the Danish midfielder would be allowed to play in a different country where the rules are not the same.

"The club and the entire Nerazzurri family wish Christian all the very best for his future," the stament read, as per the official website.

"Although Inter and Christian are now parting ways, the bond shall never be broken. The good times, the goals, the victories, those Scudetto celebrations with fans outside San Siro - all this will remain forever in Nerazzurri history."

Eriksen racked up 60 appearances for Inter and helped the club claim their first league title since the 2009/2010 season last campaign.
