OFFICIAL: Juventus make big Pogba call after ban decision

Juventus have confirmed a big decision after Paul Pogba's infamous doping ban was reduced.

The 31-year-old has not kicked a ball since 3 September 2023, in a Serie A clash against Empoli, after he was handed a hefty four-year ban for doping.

It has been announced, however, that the ban was reduced to just 18 months after the midfielder's appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) was successful.

CAS ruled that, in his appeal, Pogba had sufficiently motivated that the banned substance he consumed was not intentional but a result of erroneously taking a supplement prescribed to him by a medical doctor in Florida.

The player will now be allowed to resume his career from 2025, but he will not be doing so at Juventus as his contract has now been terminated by mutual consent.

Statement:

Juventus Football Club and Paul Pogba announce that they have mutually agreed to the termination of the sports performance contract, effective from 30 November 2024.

The company wishes Paul all the best for his professional future.

Pogba made just 12 appearances since rejoining Juve in the 2022/23 season, with reports suggesting that he is keen to take his career to the United States' MLS next, with the player having often vacationed in the country in the past.
