Pogba 'fails drugs test', facing huge ban

Juventus star Paul Pogba is facing the possibility of lengthy ban after reportedly failing a drugs test.

The Frenchman has only played 32 minutes of football this season after making two cameos off the bench against Bologna and Empoli.

According to Italian publication Corriere dello Sport, the 2018 World Cup tested positive for testosterone in a standard doping test taken after the game against Udinese.

The Frenchman was an unused substitute in the game against Udinese but the reports claim traces of testosterone were found in his system.

The reports adds that should he be found guilty, the French midfielder could face a ban of two years, which could be extended to four if the Anti-Doping Tribunal prove the alleged doping was intentional.

Pogba has struggled with injury since his return to Turin in 2022 and the report claims that testosterone is a hormone that increases muscle size and strength and can help with faster recovery.

The 30-year-old has only managed to make 12 appearances for Juventus since the previous campaign and he is yet to start a game for Massimiliano Allegri's side this term.
