Ivan Perisic's contract with the Coppa Italia champions expires at the end of the season and he is yet to sign an extension with the club.
Sports Mediaset, as cited by the Sun, have reported that the Croatian forward is on the verge of joining the Blues on a free transfer ahead of the new season.
The report adds they everything is in place, with the 33-year-old only needing to complete a medical and put pen-to-paper on the contract.
Perisic failed to get an extension at the San Siro after reports claiming he wanted a three-year deal that would have seen him earn around £100,000 per week.
When asked about his failure to get an extension at Inter, Perisic said, "I don't know anything yet.
"With important players, you don't wait to the last minute. You ought to know that too."
