Serie A match report Fiorentina v Juventus

Juventus' perfect start in Serie A season came to an end following a goalless draw away to Fiorentina on Saturday afternoon.

High-profile signing Franck Ribery made his first start for the Viola, as Cristiano Ronaldo started for Juve along with Danilo who scored within seconds from coming on last time against Napoli.

An eight minute substitution rippled Juve's plan after Federico Bernardeschi came on for Douglas Costa who suffered a knock while dribbling through a challenge.

Juve received a big let off after 15 minutes when Wojciech Szczesny's clearance deflected five metres from goal after hitting the back of Federico Chiesa.

Fiorentina continued posing all sorts of issues to the visitors soon thereafter, as Ronaldo and his entourage struggled to get into gear.

Dalbert almost handed Viola the lead after a powering header from a blind-run in the area, but Szczesny came up trumps with a point-blank save.

Juve made a second change in the 44th minute as Miralem Pjanic stretched off following a knock with Rodrigo Bentancur entering the equation.

Szczesny frustrated the Viola once again seven minutes from halftime as the Pole beat Milan Badelj's powerful away from danger after a cross-field pass.

Juve's battles raged on in the sweltering heat, as Fiorentina monitored their every move with huge numbers after every ball around the area.

Ronaldo almost stole the headlines in the final five minutes with an acrobatic overhead kick, but the effort flew harmlessly astray.

The Turin side settled for a share of the spoils in the end, bringing a halt to their perfect start to the campaign as pressure continues to build on Vincenzo Montella.
