Liverpool remain the only side in Europe's top five leagues with a perfect record, after Inter Milan suffered their first defeat of the Serie A season at the hands of Juventus.
Romelu Lukaku returned for Inter after missing Wednesday's defeat to FC Barcelona, while Paulo Dybala and Federico Bernardeschi started for Juve ahead Aaron Ramsey and Gonzalo Higuain.
Dybala repaid the faith when he fired home from the far side of the area four minutes in following a ball from the wide side. Juve continued with their menacing act four minutes later, as Cristiano Ronaldo cracked the top of the crossbar after cutting into the area.
Inter received a penalty on 18 minutes after Matthijs De Ligt's arm connected with Danilo D'Ambrosio's cross, which allowed Lautaro Martinez to convert the resultant spot kick.
Stefano Sensi sustained a knock and was on the half-hour mark removed for Matias Vecino with Inter holding the upper hand.
Ronaldo seemed to have Juve back ahead four minutes to halftime, but the effort was disallowed after the Video Assistant Referee ruled Dybala strayed into an offside position.
Juve started the second half much like the first as their high-pressing from the front had Inter into all sorts of confusion.
Vecino nearly put Inter ahead towards the final 20 minutes when his shot deflected against the post with help from De Ligt.
However, Higuain got ahead of Alessandro Bastoni ten minutes to the end and lashed home their second following a good build-up around the area.
Inter nearly levelled for the second time on 85 minutes, but Vecino failed to beat Wojciech Szczesny as the visitors held on for the win, ending the home side's perfect start in the process.
