Serie A match report Juventus v Genoa 11 April 2021

Wojciech Szczesny and Dejan Kulusevski headlined Juve's changes from the midweek victory against Napoli, while Paulo Dybala who scored in that encounter was named on the bench.

A buoyant start from the champions showed on four minutes after Kulusevski swept a low cross from the right-side by Juan Cuadrado into the far corner of the net to open the deadlock.

It was two two minutes from the midway mark after Alvaro Morata made a late run in the area to thump home a loose ball from the post following smart spade work from Federico Chiesa.

Genoa opened up following the final five minutes of the half and threatened to halve the tally through a rasping drive from Gianluca Scamacca, but it was beaten away by Szczesny.

Substitutions from the Bianconeri followed suit ahead of the second half, as Cuadrado replaced Alex Sandro whereas Paolo Ghiglione and Marko Pjaca came on for Genoa.

The Rossoblu did have the advantage from a corner-kick two minutes later when Scamacca jumped high in the area to nod into the near area of the net.

Pjaca should've drawn Genoa level minutes afterwards from a loose pass in the area, but instead shot high and wide shortly after he had Szczesny at full stretch.

Juventus made it three in the last 20 minutes when Weston McKennie beat the offside trap to run in off the shoulder of the defence before bulging the net.

There were more chances for the host closer to the end of the match however the three goals proved enough.
