Inter Milan were made to sweat for their victory at Frosinone while a brace from Kalidou Koulibaly saw Napoli cruise to victory over Chievo in Serie A on Sunday.
Frosinone 1-3 Inter Milan
Radja Nainggolan and Ivan Perisic scored in either half for Inter Milan as they beat struggling Frosinone 3-1 on Sunday evening at Stadio Benito Stirpe.
Nainggolan opened the scoring for Inter in the 19th minute while Perisic made it 2-0 for the visitors in the 37th minute from the penalty spot.
Francesco Cassata pulled a goal back for Frosinone in the 61st minute but the hosts could not stage a come back as Matias Vecino sealed the three points for Inter in second-half stoppage time.
Torino 1-1 Cagliari
Simone Zaza was a hero and villain for Torino as he scored and was red-carded against nine-man Cagliari in an extraordinary 1-1 stalemate on Sunday afternoon at Stadio Olimpico Grande.
Zaza broke the deadlock for the hosts seven minutes after the break but was then shown a straight red card in the 73rd minute that led to Cagliari finding the equaliser two minutes later thanks to Leonardo Pavoletti.
However, the visitors lost their heads towards the end as Luca Pellegrini received his second yellow card eight minutes before time and was sent off while Nicola Barella also got his second booking deep in stoppage time as Cagliari ended the game with nine men.
Fiorentina 0-0 Bologna
Bologna moved three points clear from the relegation zone with a hard-fought stalemate without goals against Fiorentina on Sunday afternoon at Stadio Artemio Franchi.
Sampdoria 2-0 Genoa
Sampdoria cruised to a 2-0 victory over ten-man Genoa on Sunday afternoon at Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris.
Gregoire Defrel opened the scoring for the hosts in the third minute, but Genoa were down to ten men six minutes after the break as Biraschi was red-carded for denying Sampdoria a clear goal scoring opportunity, which resulted in a penalty that was converted by Fabio Quagliarella two minutes later.
Sassuolo 0-0 Parma
Sassuolo and Parma were not clinical enough as they played to a goalless stalemate at Mapei Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Consigli and his opposite shot-stopper Luigi Sepe were the main reason for the goalless stalemate as they were on top of their game on both ends, pulling off saves to deny the match goals.
Chievo 1-3 Napoli
A brace from Kalidou Koulibaly ensured Napoli cruised to a 3-1 victory over basement-side Chievo on Sunday evening at Stadio Marc'antonio Bentegodi.
Koulibaly got the opener for Carlo Ancelotti's charges in the 15th minute while Arkadiusz Milik made it 2-0 for the visitors in the 64th minute.
The Senegalese defender sealed the three points with nine minutes remaining, while Bastjian Cesar got the consolation goal for Chievo in the last minute of regulation time.
