Serie A Wrap

Torino boosted their hopes clinching a top-four spot after defeating AC Milan, while Napoli and Lazio secured away victories in the Serie A on Sunday.

Torino 2-0 AC Milan

Ten-man AC Milan suffered a blip in their top-four hopes after going down 2-0 to Torino at the Stadio Olimpico Grande in Turin.

Following an ill-timid first half, Torino were in front as Andrea Belotti tucked home a penalty on 58 minutes.

Alex Berenguer smacked home the second after 69 minutes following poor defending from Milan, who had Alessio Romagnoli dismissed after 81 minutes, as Torino maintain Uefa Europa League hopes with a first league win over the Milanese outfit in 18 years.

Frosinone 0-2 Napoli

Napoli kept their second spot intact with a 2-0 victory away to relegation-troubled Frosinone at the Stadio Benito Stripe.

The Napoleons stamped their authority as early as the 19th minute through Dries Mertens before Amin Younes completed the victory with a second 49 minutes in the second half.

Frosinone plunged further into the quagmire, sitting in 19th spot 10 points from safety with four matches to go.

Chievo Verona 1-1 Parma

Relegated Chievo were held to a 1-1 draw by Parma at the Stadio Marc Antonio Bentogodi in the lunchtime kick-off on Sunday.

Parma grabbed a first-half lead through a 38th minute finish from Juraj Kucka until Riccardo Meggiorini levelled with a decent strike 66 minutes into the second half.

With four matches to go, Parma missed the chance to edge closer to a mid-table position, dropping down one position to 15th instead.

SPAL 1-1 Genoa

SPAL failed to build on to their 4-2 win over Empoli with a disappointing 1-1 draw against Genoa at the Stadio Paolo Mazza in Ferrara.

Leonardo Semplici's side raced into a halftime lead after Felipe's 36th minute strike. Genoa fought back after the break as Gianluca Lapadula came off the bench to force a draw.

SPAL jump one spot from 13th to 12th, while the Rossoblu from Genoa drop down one position from 15th to 16th.

Sampdoria 1-2 Lazio

Ten-man Sampdoria suffered a 2-1 defeat to top-four hopefuls Lazio at the Stadio Luigi Ferrari in Genoa.

A first half brace from Felipe Caicedo, which came in the 3rd and 19th minute inspired the Eagles to a crucial win that maintains their top-four ambitions.

Veteran Fabio Quagliarella halved the deficit on 57 minutes with his 23rd of the season, while Gaston Ramirez saw red on the cusp of halftime.
