AS Roma 3-3 Genoa

AS Roma and Genoa played to a thrilling 3-3 draw in their season-opener at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

Cengiz Under handed Roma a sixth minute lead, but Andrea Pinamonti pulled the visitors level ten minutes later.

Edin Dzeko put the Romans back in the lead on the half-hour mark, but Domenico Criscito levelled three minutes to halftime.

Aleksandr Kolarov restored Roma's advantage four minutes in the second half; however Christian Kouame ensured a share of the spoils 20 minutes from time.

Sampdoria 0-3 Lazio

Eusebio Di Francesco's reign at Sampdoria got off to a dismal start as Lazio romped to a 3-0 victory at the Stadio Luigi Ferrari.

Ciro Immobile handed the visiting outfit the lead after 37 minutes, with Joaquin Correa adding to their tally in the 56th minute before Immobile completed his double six minutes later.

Torino 2-1 Sassuolo

Torino recovered from a UEFA Europa League midweek loss to beat Sassuolo 2-1 in their season opener in Turin.

Simone Zaza broke the deadlock after 14 minutes and made it two 15 minutes into the second half, with Francesco Caputo finding the consolation in the 69th minute.

Cagliari 0-1 Brescia

Brescia celebrated their promotion to Serie A with a narrow 1-0 victory over Cagliari in their opening match on Sunday evening at Sardegna Arena.

Alfredo Donnarumma broke the deadlock for the newly promoted side nine minutes after the break and that was enough to get them their first three points of the season.

Hellas Verona 1-1 Bologna

Hellas Verona rallied from behind to salvage a 1-1 stalemate against Bologna at Stadio Marc'antonio Bentegodi.

The newly promoted side had a horrible start as they were down to ten men as early as the 13th minute after Pawel Dawidowicz was shown a straight red card for a tackle inside the box and conceded a penalty in the process. Nicola Sansone took the responsibility and opened the scoring for Bologna.

However, the hosts rallied and managed to equalise nine minutes before the break courtesy of Miguel Veloso.

SPAL 2-3 Atalanta

Atalanta rallied back from two goals down to sink SPAL 3-2 in their season opener on Sunday evening at Stadio Paolo Mazza.

Federico Di Francesco grabbed the lead for the hosts in the sixth minute before Andrea Petagna doubled their lead 20 minutes later. Robin Gosens pulled a goal back for Atalanta 11 minutes before the break , but Muriel eventually levelled matters for the visitors with 20 minutes remaining.

Muriel gave gave Atalanta the lead for the first time in the game with 14 minutes remaining to clinch all the three points for the visitors.

Udinese 1-0 AC Milan

AC Milan fell to a shock 1-0 defeat against Udinese in their Serie A opener on Sunday at the Dacia Arena.

Milan, who is now managed by Marco Giampaolo following the departure of Gennaro Gattuso, struggled to get going throughout the match.

Udine grew in confidence and eventually found the all-important winner in the final minutes through debutant Rodrigo Becao.
