Zwane: I go in with the confidence that I'm trying to score

Attacking midfielder Themba Zwane has opened up on his Man of the Match performance as Bafana hammered Namibia 4-0.

The 34-year-old was the star of the show on Sunday night when Bafana collected their first win of the AFCON thanks to goals from Percy Tau, a brace from Zwane and late strike by substitute Thapelo Maseko.

The skilful midfielder was rewarded with the Man of the Match award for his efforts and speaking to media after the match, Zwane opened up on his and Bafana's impressive performance.

"Each and every game I go in with the confidence that I'm trying to score goals," Zwane said.

"Players like us, attackers, we have to score goals so that you can boost the confidence [of the team].

"I'm happy that today I got two chances and I scored two goals to help the team and hopefully I will score more goals going forward."

Hugo Broos admitted that Bafana were forced to play a different style of football on the night and Zwane echoed the coach's sentiments.

"It was a different approach, we wanted to pump the ball into the box," Zwane added.

"For us as the number 10s and wingers, we tried t get the second ball.

"We knew that our striker was going to win the ball at the top and we tried to put them under pressure and tried to create more goals and take our chances.

"As you can see today we managed to score four goals of which was good for us.

Up next for Bafana is the last group stage match against bottom-of-the-table Tunisia who will need a win to stand any chance of progressing from the group stages.

"It's going to be difficult  against Tunisia. We are going to analyse them and try to come up with a plan and we know definitely sure that we need a win so we can qualify [for the knockout stages," Zwane added.

Bafana's match against Tunisia will be played on Wednesday. Kick-off at 19:00.
