Ahead of Real Madrid's titanic UEFA Champions League semi-final against Manchester City, manager Carlo Ancelotti has made a surprising admission regarding Erling Haaland.

Los Blancos and the Citizens are preparing to square off in the final four of European football's premier club competition for the second successive campaign.

While the LaLiga giants were triumphant in last season's encounter en route to winning the competition, in this edition the Premier League table-toppers have a goalscoring machine in Haaland, who has bagged 51 goals in 46 matches across all competitions as he continues to break records on an almost weekly basis.

While the 22-year-old has been in extraordinary form all season long, Los Blancos boss Ancelotti has admitted they have no specific plan to stop the Norwegian in the UCL tie, focusing instead on the Citizens as a whole.

"Haaland is a very dangerous player. He's an obvious danger," the 63-year-old told members of the media ahead of the first leg on Tuesday night, as per Goal.

"But only talking about Haaland means not talking about a complete team that plays well, that attacks, that has ideas.

"We aren't planning how to play Haaland, but rather to play a team that looks unstoppable.

"I think we can have a chance to play an even, competitive game, and we can win.

"What I can say is they're a more complete team. They might play a bit more direct.

"They use more long balls because they have a tall forward [Haaland] and they have [Kevin] De Bruyne behind him.

"In a lot of games they've taken advantage of that, playing a long ball and winning the second ball. But that doesn't mean the team has changed its style."
