Manchester City advanced to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League following a 3-1 victory over FC Copenhagen in the last 16 second-leg on Wednesday.
Ederson, Ruben Dias, Manuel Akanji, Rodri Hernandez, and Erling Haaland were the only players to maintain their places from the Citizens' victory over Manchester United on Sunday.
Akanji gave City start they had wanted when he attacked a cross into the near post of the area from Julian Alvarez and volleyed in superbly well.
The Argentine ace reversed the roles in a frenetic opening where he came in from the far end of the area and slammed powerfully through a sprawling Kamil Grabara.
Morocco international Mohamed Elyounoussi gave the Danish giants a glimmer of hope inside the half-hour mark with a well-taken solo effort.
Haaland restored the reigning champions lead on the stroke of halftime when he cut in from the far side to fire into the near post.
In the second half, the goal-feast stopped as the Citizens had done more than enough to advance to the quarter-finals as the Danish side's journey in the tournament comes to an end.
Real Madrid 1-1 RB Leipzig
Real Madrid secured a spot in the last eight following a 2-1 victory over two-legs against RB Leipzig.
Interestingly, Madrid brought in Nacho Fernandez and removed forward Rodrygo Goes in their only change from the team that drew at Valencia on Sunday in LaLiga.
Given the tight nature of the clash, Leipzig looked to cause the early blow from the high-press by Dan Olmo and Benjamin Sesko but unfortunately it was snuffed out.
The worrying sings continued for the Los Blancos, who were threatened again when a penetrative strike from Xavi Simons brought the opposite number Andriy Lunin to work.
Leipzig's inability to find the net proved costly and saw the home team go ahead midway in the second half through a cleverly taken finish from Vinicius Junior.
However, the lead was cut short within minutes after a telling cross into the area from David Raum allowed Willi Orban to dive down and head in the bottom-corner.
Leipzig weren't done though and threatened victory in added time as Dani Olmo nestled the crossbar through a snap effort well inside the area.
Madrid survived the spell of pressure coming their way and ensured passage into the last eight alongside Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and holders Manchester City.
