Man City maintain perfect UCL record after 5-goal thriller

Manchester City 3-2 RB Leipzig

Manchester City came back from two goals down to see off RB Leipzig 3-2 in a Group G encounter at the Etihad Stadium.

Josko Gvardiol featured yet again for City against the club he played for last season, while goalkeeper Stefan Ortega and Jack Grealish were also recalled by Pep Guardiola.

The holders were stunned in the opening couple of minutes as Lois Openda opened the deadlock and completed a brace past the half-hour mark through a well-taken strike.

Haaland stepped up a little to ten minutes in the second half and pulled one back to become the youngest player to reach 40 goals in the competition's history.

Paris Saint-Germain 1-1 Newcastle United

Paris Saint-Germain needed a late penalty from Kylian Mbappe to keep their UEFA Champions League campaign alive with a 1-1 draw against Newcastle United on Tuesday evening.

PSG provided three changes from the weekend win over AS Monaco in Lee Kang-In, Danilo Pereira and Lucas Hernandez, with Newcastle unchanged from the emphatic win over Chelsea.

The Magpies were ahead early on as Alexander Isak made the most of a loose ball following a palm by Gianluigi Donnarumma and stabbed in the net.

As the Magpies enjoyed the ascendancy for large parts, the host drew level in the 98th minute of stoppage time after star player Kylian Mbappe rescued a point with a spot-kick following a hand-ball by Tino Livramento in the area.

AC Milan 1-3 Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund bagged a last 16 spot with one round to go following a dominant 3-1 victory over AC Milan at the San Siro in Group F.

The Rossoneri got a big chance very early on with a spot-kick after a hand-ball from Emre Can, but Olivier Giroud was unable to capitalise.

Milan were punished a little thereafter for not sticking it away as Dortmund drew a foul from Davide Calabria to a win their own spot-kick and saw Reuck find the net.

Nigerian international Samuel Chukwueze pulled the Rossoneri back on level terms before halftime off a well-constructed solo finish.

Dortmund went in front again early in the second half after 17-year-old Jamie Bynoe-Gittens combined Marcel Sabitzer to find the net.

The Bundesliga put the contest to bed and ensured qualification as Karem Adeyemi fed off a ball from Reus to cut an opening before slotting in off Mike Maignan.

FC Barcelona 2-1 FC Porto

FC Barcelona entered the last 16 after missing out the past two seasons courtesy of a 2-1 win over FC Porto.

Jules Kounde, Ronald Araujo, Ilkay Gundogan, Joao Felix and Raphinha were recalled by Xavi Hernandez from Barca's draw at Rayo Vallecano on Saturday.

Pepe put the two-time champions ahead on the half-hour mark and stunned Barca as he managed to bear down on a loose ball for a close-range finish.

The Catalans were level within minutes as Joao Cancelo skipped past one challenge around the area to send a sumptuous strike into the far corner.

Felix got the Catalans ahead for the first time in the match early in the second half courtesy of a low rasping finish into the far corner.

Feyenoord 1-3 Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid secured passage to the knockout stages of the tournament after seeing off Feyenoord 3-1 in a Group E clash.

Front pair Antoine Griezmann and Alvaro Morata hoped to inflict a similar demolition on the Eredivisie side as they did to Celtic in match day 4 and led the line for Atleti.

The LaLiga side were in the lead at halftime from an own-goal by Lutsharel Geertruida and added a second through Mario Hermoso in the second half before Mats Wieffer replied later on.

However, Atletico regained their two-goal advantage with nine minutes to play after Santiago Gimenez found his own net following a misguided clearance.

Young Boys 2-0 Red Stars Belgrade

Young Boys clinched third spot in Group G with a game to spare following a pretty dominant 2-0 victory over Red Star Belgrade.

Both goals came in the first half, as a slice of good fortune watched a defensive clearance by Glazer saw Nedeljkovic connect to find his own net.

The second half followed swiftly after L Blum opened up a yard of space for a shot in a decent position and made no mistake, as the defeat eliminates Red Star from Europe.

Lazio 2-0 Celtic

Scottish giants Celtic crashed out of this season's tournament after finishing bottom in Group E in the wake of a 2-0 loss to Serie A side Lazio, who progressed to the last 16.

After the match ended score-less in the first half despite the chances on either end, the two teams looked to come alive following the break.

The Italians showed great strength with ten minutes to go and struck twice through club record scorer Ciro Immobile, who came off the bench.

Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0 Royal Antwerp

Shakhtar Donetsk revived their chances to secure a spot in the knockout stages following a slender 1-0 win over Royal Antwerp in Group H.

A 12th minute effort from Mykola Matviyenko was enough to see the separate the sides and restored the giants of Ukraine chances to grab a last 16 spot.

The visitors did go down to ten players in the dying minutes to full-time as Arbnor Muja got his marching orders for a coming-together.
