UCL semi-final line-up confirmed

Arsenal reached the UEFA Champions League semi-finals for the first time since 2009 after eliminating reigning champions Real Madrid.

Thomas Partey overcame an injury and joined Declan Rice in the midfield, while Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli were recalled after being rested over the weekend.

The Gunners had a big chance to extend the lead in the tie from the penalty spot after the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) spotted a foul from Raul Asencio on Mikel Merino, but Saka was unable to convert as his attempted Panenka was saved by Thibaut Courtois.

Los Blancos thought they had a penalty of their own after the referee pointed to the spot when Kylian Mbappe went down under the challenge of Declan Rice, however the joy was taken away when the referee reversed his decision following a review on the monitor.

However, Mikel Arteta's charges went on to silence the home supporters in the 65th minute when Saka lobbed the on-rushing Courtois after a neat passing move.

Vinicius Junior did pull one goal back for Los Blancos two minutes later after winning the ball high up the pitch and firing home.

However, the Gunners would be able to see out the remaining 20 minutes in the second half and bagged a winning goal in second-half stoppage through Gabriel Martinelli's finish to make it 2-1 on the night and 5-1 on aggregate.

Inter Milan 2-2 Bayern Munich (4-3 agg.)

Inter Milan progressed to the semi-finals following a 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.

The Italians entered the second leg with a slender lead after securing a 2-1 win at the Allianz Arena last week.

The game's opening goal went to the Bavarians on 52 minutes when Leon Goretzka did well to pick out Harry Kane, who made no mistake from close range.

However, Inter hit back six minutes later as Lautaro Martinez smashed home from close range after Bayern failed to deal with a corner.

The home side completed the turnaround in the 61st minute when former Bayern defender Benjamin Pavard nodded home Hakan Calhanoglu's corner, while Eric Dier's 76th minute equaliser was not enough to get Bayern over the line.

Semi-Final Fixtures:

FC Barcelona v Inter Milan

Paris Saint-Germain v Arsenal
