Erling Haaland enjoyed a happy reunion with his former side Borussia Dortmund after Manchester City secured a 2-1 win at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.
The Premier League could not break down a low block from Dortmund in the first stanza, as they failed to register a shot on target.
Jude Bellingham eventually broke the deadlock for the German outfit just before the hour-mark, but City were back on level terms ten minutes before time thanks to John Stones' impressive strike.
Haaland then came to the rescue after snatching the winner for Pep Guardiola's charges four minutes later with a lovely finish from Joao Cancelo's cross for his third Champions League goal this campaign.
Real Madrid 2-0 RB Leipzig
Holders Real Madrid extended their 100 percent winning record in Group F after a late 2-0 win over RB Leipzig at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
The German side had an upper hand in the first stanza, as Christopher Nkunku was twice denied by goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and also missed an open-net chance.
Los Blancos came to life in the second stanza but had to wait until the final 10 minutes for Federico Valverde to break the deadlock before Marco Asensio sealed the deal in stoppage time.
Chelsea 1-1 RB Salzburg
New Chelsea manager Graham Potter picked up the team's first point in Group E in his debut at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues, who dropped Wesley Fofana and Kalidou Koulibaly, had a bright first stanza but could not take their chances.
Raheem Sterling eventually broke the deadlock for Potter's charges just after the halftime break with his first goal of the tournament.
However, Noah Okafor restored parity for Salzburg in the last quarter-hour mark with a neat finish.

Paris Saint-Germain retained their perfect start in Group H after a coming from behind to defeat Maccabi Haifa 3-1 at Sammy Ofer Stadium.
Tjarron Chery broke the deadlock for Maccabi on 24 minutes but Lionel Messi found the equaliser for PSG eight minutes before the break.
Kylian Mbappe gave the Parisians the lead with 21 minutes remaining and Neymar put the game to bed with two minutes left.
FC Copenhagen 0-0 Sevilla
Both Sevilla and Copenhagen registered their first point in Group G after a goalless at Parken Stadium.
The sides are two points behind second-placed Borussia Dortmund and five points behind leaders Manchester City.
Juvenus 1-2 Benfica
Juventus were left without points in Group H after another 2-1 defeat, this time against Benfica at Allianz Stadium.
Arkadiusz Milik gave Bianconeri a dream start with the opener just four minutes in but Joao Mario levelled matters for Benfica two minutes before the interval.
David Neres put the Eagles ahead early in the second stanza and that was enough to secure back-to-back wins.
Rangers 0-3 Napoli
Napoli remained unblemished in Group A after thrashing ten-man Rangers 3-0 at Ibrox Stadium.
After a goalless first stanza, Rangers were down to ten men early in the second stanza after James Sands got a second bookin for a strong tackle in the box.
Piotr Zielinski's resultant penalty was saved by goalkeeper Allan McGregor but Matteo Politan was on hand to score from the rebound. However, the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) ordered a retake and McGregor saved Zielinski's spot-kick again.
Politano eventually broke the deadlock for the Italian side with 22 minutes left.
Giacomo Raspadori doubled the lead for Napoli five minutes before time and Tanguy Ndombele sealed the deal in stoppage time.
AC Milan 3-1 Dinamo Zagreb
AC Milan secured their first victory in Group E after thrashing Dinamo Zagreb 3-1 at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza (San Siro).
Olivier Giroud broke the deadlock for the Rossoneri on the stroke of halftime and Alexis Saelemaekers doubled their lead just after the break.
Bruno Petkovic gave Dinamo hope after pulling a goal back four minutes before the hour-mark.
However, Tommaso Pobega restored a two-goal buffer for Milan with 13 minutes left.
Shakhtar Donetsk 1-1 Celtic
Shakhtar Donetsk could not maintain their perfect start in Group F after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Celtic at a neutral venue, Stadion Wojska Polskiego in Poland.
Shakhtar endured a bad start after Artem Bondarenko conceded an own goal inside ten minutes.
However, Mykhailo Mudryk eventually restored parity for the home side on the half-hour mark.
