Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim has revealed that Jose Mourinho sent him a text after the Portuguese outfit dumped Arsenal out of the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.
The current Premier League log-leaders suffered a 5-3 defeat in a penalty shootout in front of a packed Emirates Stadium.
The two teams came into the second with scores tied at 2-2 and the English outfit were the first to score through a Granit Xhaka goal with just under 20 minutes into the game.
Sporting equalised through a sensational strike by Pedro Goncalves from the halfway line and the away team would go on to reach their first quarter-final in the competition since the 2017/18 season after scoring all their penalties.

The result prompted an interesting reaction from AS Roma boss Mourinho, as he had a few words to share with Amorim, who has build a strong reputation in his native of Portugal, with some touting him 'The next Mourinho'.
Speaking after the match, the 38-year-old boss revealed what the message said. "The new Mourinho? There will never be another Mourinho," Amorim told Mais Futebol.
"He already texted me, saying that 'the old and the new [Mourinho] are still in the next phase.'
"There will be no other Mourinho."
Following the Europa League quarter-final draw on Friday afternoon, Mourinho's AS Roma will face Dutch side Feyenoord in the next write, while Sporting will take on Juventus.
