Inter Milan star striker Romelu Lukaku has matched a major European record set by five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo after scoring in the UEFA Europa League final.

The Belgian did open the scoring from the penalty in the first half, making it six consecutive games with a goal in a European competition.
Lukaku has now become the second player to score in six straight knockout stage matches after Ronaldo did it between 2012 and 2013.

While he did equal Ronaldo's record on the night became to the first player to score an own goal in the Europa League final since 2001.
Nevertheless, the 27-year-old striker has enjoyed a superb debut season with the Italian giants after scoring 34 goals across all competitions.
