Manchester United's UEFA Europa League journey came to an end after a 3-0 defeat to Sevilla on Thursday night.
There was just one change for the visiting side after the win over Nottingham Forest, with Marcel Sabitzer replacing Bruno Fernandes, who missed out due to suspension.
Sevilla got off to the perfect start when Youssef En-Nesyri pounced on a Harry Maguire error on the edge of the box and fired past David de Gea from close range.
United, meanwhile, looked to get themselves back on level terms on the night and in the tie but they were unable to carve out any clear-cut chances in the opening 20 minutes.
Erik ten Hag's charges could have restored parity in the 35th minute through Casemiro, who got on the end of Antony's cross but failed to keep his header on target.
Sevilla were unlucky not to have gone two goals ahead five minutes before the break when Lucas Ocampos saw his wonderful finish ruled out by VAR as Marcos Acuña was offside in the build-up.
The visitors threw on Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw after the break, but the home side doubled their lead two minutes in, with Loic Bade finding the back of the net from Ivan Rakitic's corner.
United did see more of the ball as the half went on and managed to produce a save out of goalkeeper Yassine Bounou following a stinging effort from Casemiro.
Sevilla, however, ended any hopes of a comeback with eight minutes to go when De Gea's poor control allowed En-Nesyri to pounce and curl a first-time effort into an empty net and send his side to the semi-finals.
