UEFA Europa League wrap

West Ham United advanced the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa League with a 2-0 win over SK Rapid Wien at the Allianz Arena in a Group H match.

The Hammers came in the match with a loss against Wolverhampton Wanderers domestically, while Rapid won their previous match against Altach.

It took late first half strikes from Andriy Yarmolenko and a penalty conversion from Mark Noble to see David Moyes' men over the line and as winners of the group.

Real Betis also claimed a ticket in the last 32 of the tournament from Group G with a 2-0 victory over Hungary's Ferencvaros TC at the Benito Villamarin Stadium.

Former Arsenal man Hector Bellerin stole the show as he provided the assist for Cristian Tello to hit the breakthrough on five minutes and late thereafter set-up Sergio Canales for the second.

Galatasaray cemented top spot in Group E and a spot in the knockout stages after recording an entertaining 4-2 victory over Olympique Marseille, who bowed out in the process.

Romanian Alexandru Cicaldau and an own-goal from Duje Caleta-Car issued Gala a comfortable cushion at the break before Algerian Sofiane Feghouli added to the equation.

Arkadiusz Milik netted on the rebound from the penalty-spot, but veteran Ryan Babel restored the host advantage before Milik bagged a second.

In Group E's other showdown in Moscow, Lazio joined the Turkish giants in the next phase following a 3-0 win over Lokomotiv Moscow.

With the latter yet to win, the first half finished goalless before two penalties in the second half from Ciro Immobile and a late effort from Pedro gave the Eagles victory and passage from the group.

Leicester City revived their chances of entering the last 32 of the UEFA Europa League in a 3-1 victory over Legia Warsaw to move from the bottom to the top of Group C on Thursday evening.

Zambian Patson Daka started and netted the opener before James Maddison and Wilfred Ndidi added to their advantage, as Warsaw had a missed penalty through Mahir Emreli.

However, Warsaw were on target within the first half through Filip Mladenovic, but no sign of a comeback appeared as the Foxes marched on.

Glasgow Rangers started their tenure without Steven Gerrard on a winning note following a 2-0 victory over AC Sparta Praha FC at the Ibrox Stadium to advance to the knockout stages.

Gerrard, who has since took up the reins of Aston Villa in the Premier League, have been replaced by the renowned Giovanni Van Bronckhorst.

A double either side of the half from Alfredo Morelos granted the host the necessary points ahead of the final match day in the group in two weeks time.

A smash and grab from Olympiacos at the death steered them to a 1-0 win over Turkish side Fenerbahce SK at the Karaiskakis Stadium and qualified for the last 32 from Group D.

Substitute Tiquinho was the match winner nine minutes from entering the field of play, as the Greek outfit progressed with room to spare while the Turks missed out.

Olympique Lyon kept their unblemished record at the top of Group A with the recording of a 3-1 victory at the expense of Brondby IF.

The Ligue 1 side remains the only outfit that boast such a record in the tournament, as a second-half double from Rayan Cherki cancelled Mikael Uhre's earlier opener.

Algerian international and former Leicester forward Islam Slimani followed with the third and final strike for the French outfit.
