Xavi complains about amount of away fans after Europa League exit

FC Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez complained about the amount of away supporters at the Camp Nou after their Europa League exit.

The Catalan giants bowed out at the quarter-final stage after a 3-2 loss at the hands of Eintracht Frankfurt in the second leg on Thursday night.

Reports suggest there were around 20,000 Frankfurt fans who attended the game at the Camp Nou on Thursday night.

Xavi, however, was not amused by the situation and says the club are investigating how many Leipzig fans got in the stadium.

"I was expecting 70,000 or 80,000 cules here but it wasn't like that," Xavi told reporters, as per Goal.

"The club is checking what happened."

Barcelona President Joan Laporta echoed Xavi's centiments and revealed there will be sanctions.

"What happened in the stands was shameful and undignified. As a cule, I felt ashamed. I will take measures," Laporta told Mundo Deportivo.

The Catalans will now turn their attention to Sunday's LaLiga tie against Cadiz on Monday night.
