Spain cement unbeaten record with thrilling win

Spain 3-2 Switzerland

European champions Spain needed a last-minute penalty to get past Switzerland 3-2 to reaffirm top spot in League A Group 4.

Alex Remiro, Alex Paredes, Marc Casado, Yeremy Pino, Alvaro Morata and Nico Williams were welcomed back by La Roja from the win over Denmark.

La Roja got a golden chance to go ahead from the penalty spot following a foul in the six-yard area, but Pedri was unable to profit from the situation.

However, the lead still went to the home side, with Pino in the perfect place and time to stab in a nicely delivered cutback.

The Swiss weren't entirely on the back-foot though but hit back during the second period when Joel Monteiro pounced on a delivery from Vincent Sierro to beat Remiro.

Bryan Gil got the champions of Europe back up ahead of the final minutes with a decent strike that gave Yvon Mvogo no chance.

Switzerland continued to show face and claimed the leveller once again when Andi Zeqiri finished off from the penalty spot.

However, La Roja still went on to collect all the points on display as substitute Bryan Zaragoza earned a penalty and dusted himself up to convert to see his nation secure the maximum points.

Croatia 1-1 Portugal

Portugal were denied a winning end to the group stages of the UEFA Nations League following a 1-1 draw against Croatia on Monday.

A different line-up by A Selecao from the 5-1 thumping over Poland saw Joao Felix and Rafael Leao lead the attack, with no Bruno Fernandes and star man Cristiano Ronaldo.

Croatia, who had first-choice goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic back between the sticks, were behind at halftime when Felix finished off Vitinha's layoff.

A Selecao steadily held ground with the Vatreni hovering about before duly restoring parity around the midway point of the clash through Manchester City's Josko Gvardiol.

Serbia 0-0 Denmark

Denmark concluded their group stage campaign with a goalless draw against a ten-men Serbia in League A Group 4.

No Rasmus Hojlund showed in the Danes stall though Kasper Dolberg, Yussuf Poulsen and Hojlund's club-mate Christian Eriksen lined-out in a formidable eleven presented.

It was a difficult evening for either side, with the deadlock extremely hard to come by before the host saw Strahinja Pavlovic dismissed in the dying minutes for a second bookable offence.

Poland 1-2 Scotland

Scotland left it late to secure a 2-1 win over Poland from League A Group 1 on Monday night.

A fast opening for the Scots were on display with veteran striker John McGinn making the breakthrough on just three minutes played.

The Poles remained in the balance of things as the match flew by and hit the leveller when Inter Milan's Piotr Zielinski picked out Kamil Piatkowski to nestle the equaliser.

A draw seemed on the cards before Liverpool's Andrew Robertson showed up in the dying minutes to get the Scots well and truly over the line, seeing the Poles drop to League B.
