UEFA Nations League wrap

Italy were back to winning ways in the UEFA Nations League after handing the Netherlands their first defeat in over a year with a 1-0 triumph in Amsterdam on Monday evening.

New Manchester United signing Donny van de Beek started for the Dutch, while Italy welcomed back Giorgio Chiellini, Nicolo Zaniolo, Ciro Immobile and gave a debut to Manuel Locatelli.

The Dutch raced in front minutes before halftime after Barella spotted an opening in the centre of the attacking area to head home what proved to be the winner in the end.

The return encounter between these two nations is pencilled for the first week of the following month in the city of Milan.

Poland bounced back from an opening day defeat with a 2-1 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Bilino Polje Stadium in Zenica.

Poland were yet again without star striker Robert Lewandowski, but Arkadiusz Milik replaced Krzystof Piatek up front, while AFC Bournemouth's Asmir Begovic returned in goal for Bosnia.

First blood went to the home side early in the first half after Haris Hajradinovic converted from the penalty spot, but Kamil Glik levelled before halftime with Kamil Grosicki getting the winner later on.
