UEFA Nations League wrap

England failed to pick up their second win in the UEFA Nations League following a goalless draw against Denmark on Tuesday evening.

Conor Coady and Kalvin Phillips debuted for the Three Lions, whilst two changes for the Danes saw Mathias Jorgensen and Christian Norgaard given a starting berth.

Demark had a chance to go ahead on 18 minutes through a strike from Kasper Dolberg, but his effort just cleared the crossbar, and went close again with a close-range shot later on.

Following a dull first half, England began to prop up more in advancing areas as Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane combined to bring Kasper Schmeichel to his first save of the evening 60 minutes in.

Sterling launched another promising effort on goal ten minutes later from 20 yards, which Schmeichel turned around the post, as the Danes pick up their first point in League A Group 2 with the English in second spot.

Belgium made it two wins from two matches in the UEFA Nations League with a 5-1 victory over Iceland in Brussels on Tuesday.

Toby Alderweireld made his 100th appearance for the hosts, as Iceland gave a rare start in goal for Ogmundur Kristinsson in place of the injured Hannes Halldorsson.

The Red Devils trailed in the first ten minutes after Holmbert Fridjonsson lobbed into an unguarded net off a first-time looping attempt from outside the area albeit with the help of a deflection before as Axel Witsel got the better of their opposite number Kristinsson from a set piece scenario three minutes later to level matters.

The Red Devils were ahead on 17 minutes after Michy Batshuayi reacted quickly to a rebound from Krstinsson for a composed finish from point-blank range.

Belgium took total control following halftime when Dries Mertens stepped inside of his marker to pick out the bottom corner of the net.

Iceland's woes were compounded on 69 minutes when Batshuayi got on the end of a free-flowing move to back-heel into the net.

The Red Devils put the cherry on top in the last ten minutes after Jeremy Doku pulled a cutback from the far side to nestle the far corner, and hand his side a perfect start in League A Group 2.
