PSG 'eyeing' impressive Ghana WC star

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly keeping tabs on a Ghana star who has impressed many at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Ajax Amsterdam star Mohammed Kudus has earned many plaudits for his performances for the Black Stars in Qatar, with the 22-year-old claiming the Man of the Match prize after their Group H victory over South Korea on Monday.

The Ghanaian was widely linked with a move to Everton in the most recent window after his concerns over a lack of first-team action during Erik ten Hag's reign at the Dutch club.

However, a positional change from midfield to striker under new manager Alfred Schreuder this season has seen the African attacker become a vital cog for the Eredivisie giants.

In the 2022/23 campaign so far, Kudus has 10 goals and two assists in 21 club appearances – including four goals and two assists in the UEFA Champions League – and the goal-getter has taken this form into the World Cup, having scored twice in two games.

According to Fichajes, PSG have been monitoring the midfielder-cum-forward for several weeks.

It is said the French side's sporting director Luis Campos is big admirer of Ghana's No. 20.

With reports continuing to suggest that Lionel Messi will leave Les Parisiens at the end of this season when his deal expires and with Kylian Mbappe's future uncertain, the Ligue 1 log leaders could find themselves in a position where they may have to replace not one but two superstars.

However, PSG are likely to face competition for Kudus' signature from the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Real Madrid, who are also believed to be interested in the young African sensation's services.
