DStv Prem stars ‘reveal’ their favourite European clubs

With European football starting to heat up, you may be curious to see which of the continent's best clubs do some of the DStv Premiership stars such as Linda Mntambo and Bernard Parker support. Here's a look!

The story

No one can deny that European football is the most elite level of the sport, as many footballers across the globe and in South Africa dream of making it to UEFA's top five leagues.

For supporters, the UEFA Champions League is a fascinating competition where many world class players across various topflight divisions get to compete on the same field - while the UEFA Europa League is also a tournament of genuine prestige albeit not to the level of the UCL.

Now, in the spirit of this top drawer tournaments, we going to look at who the likes of Mntambo, Parker, Keletso Makgalwa, Lebohang Maboe, and Keagan Buchanan are rallying behind.

For starters, the Sekhukhune United skipper Mntambo is a die-hard Manchester United fan who has already bought both the 2022/23 white away shirt and green alternative jerseys. The Red Devils will be keen on bouncing back from their embarrassing 6-3 defeat against Manchester City when they take on Cyprus outfit Omonia on Thursday in the Europa League.

The TS Galaxy duo of Parker and Makgalwa seems to prefer Italian teams, as the pair wears the colours of Inter Milan and AC Milan, respectively. The two capital giants are the last two winners of the Scudetto title, with the Rossoneri being the reigning champions while the Nerazzurri won the 2021/22 campaign. Both teams are in the UCL.

Maboe and Buchanan, who are both sponsored by PUMA, unsurprisingly support teams who wear the German kit-maker. The Mamelodi Sundowns star appears to be a Borussia Dortmund fan, while Buchanan seems to like an expected club, French team Olympique Marseille.
