Despite Cristiano Ronaldo's tough start to the season, a Premier League manager has now hailed the Manchester United striker's "outstanding" career, while also giving his longstanding rival Lionel Messi an honourable mention.
Ronaldo once again grabbed headlines on Sunday, when he netted the winner in United's 2-1 victory over Everton at Goodison Park.

The goal marked an incredible milestone of 700 club goals for the Portugal captain, a feat he managed to achieve with four teams, namely Sporting CP, Real Madrid, Juventus, and United.
Everton head coach Frank Lampard, who played against the 37-year-old forward in the 2007/08 UEFA Champions League final, was left gushing over the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's astounding milestone after the Toffees' latest encounter with the Red Devils.
"It is just outstanding, isn't it?" Lampard said of Ronaldo's achievement, according to Manchester Evening News.
"He's one of the greatest players that has graced the game in an era when we have had himself and Messi.
"The comparison doesn't matter, they are just both incredible players in football's history.
"To be going and look as physically good as he looks, to keep scoring goals as he's done, the numbers he has racked up have become normal, abnormal numbers become normal year after year, looking after himself in the right way...
"I don't know him particularly well but you can do nothing but admire those numbers.
"When he was on 699, I wanted him to score in the Europa League the other night because you could feel it might come at the weekend and then he comes on, because Martial's got a problem. Sometimes those things happen in football.
