Percy Tau appears set for another spell on the sidelines after x-rays revealed that he had sustained a back injury during Monday's 3-0 Egyptian Premier League win over Al-Ittihad.
Having only recently overcome a long-term injury, Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau appears to have been dealt a cruel blow after sustaining yet another setback during Al Ahly's 3-0 league win over Al-Ittihad on Monday evening.
The 28-year-old forward opened the scoring in the 12th-minute of the match, his second goal in as many games, and was a constant threat for Al Ahly before he was forced off through injury during the latter stages of the encounter.

Tau has since undergone a string of 'x-rays and medical examinations' on Tuesday which revealed that the former Mamelodi Sundowns star has sustained a back injury, although no timeline has been made available in respect of a potential spell on the sidelines.
"Dr. Ahmed Abu Abla, the team doctor, said that Percy Tau underwent some medical examinations and x-rays to determine the extent of his injury and the duration of his absence," the club said in a statement on Tuesday.
"Abu Abla explained that Tau was injured in the back muscle and underwent an ultrasound scan of the muscle this morning, in addition to some necessary medical examinations. The team doctor indicated that, in light of the results of the x-rays conducted by the player, the extent of his injury, the duration of his absence, and the training program he is subject to will be determined [in due course].
Tau had previously missed the end of the 2022/23 campaign through an injury sustained in June, which was previously reported to have been in relation to his back, and only returned to action in October before making his first start of the season last week.
