Cristiano Ronaldo has now reportedly made a big decision on his imminent future with Portugal.
After A Selecao's shock exit from the 2022 FIFA World Cup against Morocco in the quarter-finals last weekend, the Portuguese forward hinted that he could retire from international football.

Ronaldo said via social media that "the dream ended", leading to speculation the 37-year-old could hanging up his international boots as he will be 41 years old when the next World Cup comes around.
However, according to Portuguese news outlet Correio da Manha, Ronaldo has decided he will not retire from national team duty as he hopes to play at the 2024 UEFA European Championship.

With the veteran seemingly losing his position in the starting line-up to Goncalo Ramos during the World Cup in Qatar, it remains to be seen if he will be able to win back that No. 9 role.
It is further claimed that even if Fernando Santos, who dropped the former Manchester United star to the bench in Qatar, keeps his role as manager of the side, Ronaldo's stance will remain unchanged.
The ex-Real Madrid talisman is said to understand that he has not been in the best form of late, and feels that not having a pre-season with United or featuring regularly with the Red Devils this season affected his performances at the tournament in the Middle East.

With reports suggesting Ronaldo could be set to sign a two-and-a-half-year deal with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, it is likely the five-time Ballon d'Or winner will still be playing regularly when Euro 2024 comes around.
