The Central Bank of Argentina is reportedly considering adding Lionel Messi's face to the country's banknotes following the Albiceleste's historic 2022 FIFA World Cup triumph.
Messi's sensational display in Qatar garnered significant acclaim for the Paris Saint-Germain superstar, who has since been invited by Brazil to leave his mark at the Maracana Stadium's prestigious Hall Of Fame in Rio de Janeiro.

Upon the team's arrival back in Argentina, hundreds of thousands of people flocked to the streets of Buenos Aires to celebrate the team's achievement, with the players eventually having to be airlifted away in order to leave the bus parade.
Now, according to Argentine news outlet El Financiero, the Central Bank of Argentina is weighing up the possibility of having the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner's face put on the country's banknotes.
Further details by El Cronista claim that Messi would be eternalised on the nation's 1000 peso note due to the fact that the number starts with a "10", which is Messi's shirt number for the now-three-time world champions.
It is said that the rest of the triumphant squad, which has been named "La Scaloneta" after manager Lionel Scaloni, would be displayed on the back of the note.
