Rulani makes honest admission over Sundowns form

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena has admitted that the Brazilians have not been at their best in recent matches but applauded his players for grinding out positive results.

Despite an incredible eleven-match wining streak, Sundowns has struggled in recent matches to exert their usual dominance over opponents.

The Brazilians escaped with a narrow 2-1 win over a rampant Chippa United side, recording just three on target compared to Chippa's six. Sundowns also stumbled to a hard fought 1-0 Gavin Hunt's SuperSport United on Monday evening.

Mokwena was not shy to admit that his side has not been at its' best but applauded the players for collecting all three points.

"Like you, at your workplace, there are days where you don't' feel like being at work. But champions get the job even when they don't feel like it," Mokwena said.

"Sometimes the body is a little bit heavier on the back of game after game after game and what's important is not the intensity of our motivation but the longevity of our motivation. It's the desire to and win and win and not get tired of that."

"Humans are creatures of habit and so, it's important that we have this habit of winning, vven against the difficult opponents that push us to the wire. You've seen it a few times.

The Sundowns  will be looking to extend their winning run when they meet Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday at the FNB Stadium.
