With Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo set to face off against his arch-rival Lionel Messi on Thursday night, it seems that the GOAT debate slightly favours the Real Madrid legend in the Middle East as he has been made the poster-child of the Arab World. Here's a look!
The story
Images of Ronaldo have been placed across many parts of the Gulf region. He has now notably been put on the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Dubai. This is a monumental feat by any stretch of the imagination, as not just anyone can be on the cover of the iconic wonder of the world.

This fixture could mark the final meeting between Messi and Ronaldo when PSG faces an Al Nassr/Al-Hilal all-star XI. The two have dominated the sport over a period of two decades and now that they in the twilight of their careers and playing on two different continents, it may be the last time fans get to see them on the same pitch.
The pair have defined the sport in a way that no has been done. While some suggest that the GOAT debate is over after Messi won the 2022 World Cup with Argentina, others argue that the biggest international trophy cannot be the decider of the conversation.
The former Manchester United talisman will captain the Saudi all-star XI and the match takes place prior to him even making his debut for his new employers Al-Nassr. The reason he hasn't been able to play yet is due to a suspension he carried for destroying a fan's phone at Goodison Park during a game between the Red Devils and Everton in April.
