Former Cape Town City star Peter Leeuwenburgh has revealed why Manchester United's striker coach Benni McCarthy was one of the best managers he worked with.
In an exclusive chat with KickOff the Dutch goalkeeper reserves high praise for McCarthy by highlighting his excellent managerial talents.
McCarthy has been recently earning plaudits for his impact at the Red Devils with Marcus Rashford and Erik ten Hag both highlighting the former Blackburn star's impact.
The 45-year-old worked at Hibernian in Scotland before stints at Cape Town City and AmaZulu in the DStv Premiership, before being recruited to Old Trafford by Ten Hag in a sensational move.
The duo spent a successful spell in Cape Town lifting the MTN8 cup in McCarthy's second season in his first position as a head coach with Leeuwenburgh an integral addition as a shot-stopper.
"Benni for me was one of the best coaches I ever had especially the management side," the 28-year-old detailed to KickOff.
"Keeping everybody happy and together, he was very good at that.
"I had a lot of coaches and some were big names but he was one of the best.
"I owe him a lot because he put me in straight away after only four training sessions.
"He gave me all of his trust so i will always appreciate and be thankful to him.

"I could see he has a lot of talent as a coach because he was young and inexperienced but he managed us so well.
"I still talk to him sometimes."
