Wout Weghorst was signed on a six-month loan deal in January, but reports suggest that he was only ever anticipated to be a stop-gap for United, while Anthony Martial has had an injury-plagued 2022/23 season and it is believed the Frenchman could be moved on at the end of the campaign.
The likes of Napoli's Victor Osimhen and Red Bull Salzburg's Benjamin Sesko are reportedly on the club's shortlist of potential forwards to sign.
According to Football Insider, however, the Red Devils are now keeping close tabs on Kane's future at Tottenham Hotspur, with the Mancunians holding an active interest in signing the striker if he becomes available.
The London club's chairman Daniel Levy could be forced to cash in on the player's services sooner rather than later as he has just 18 months left to run on his contract.
It is also believed the England captain could be swayed to leave Spurs in pursuit of silverware, which he is yet to claim in his 12-year senior career to date.
