Kaizer Chiefs defender Siyabonga Ngezena has candidly detailed his early season struggles as the centre-back seemingly has returned to a rich vein of form.
Chiefs are putting in the final preparations for a DStv Premiership clash against Marumo Gallants to be played on Saturday at FNB Stadium. Amakhosi go into the fixture on the back of four consecutive league victories.
Ngezana featured in three of the victories, including a Man of the Match performance against Richards Bay. His recent heroics are a far cry from a horror showing against Mamelodi Sundowns at the start of the season in which the 25-year-old committed two errors that led to goals, prompting head coach Arthur Zwane to substitute the defender off after 45 minutes.
The nightmare performance also put Ngezana under heavy scrutiny from supporters, as Chiefs suffered an embarrassing 4-0 defeat.

However, Ngezana has proved his doubters wrong with a string of assured performances and has opened up a return to form.
"Going back to the situation of mistakes, I think it's all about the mindset, also the coach believes in me a lot," Ngezana told journalists on Thursday.
"I've worked with Coach Arthur since the development, he knows my strength and believes in me. I also believe in him and I don't want to let him down.
"So, any chance I get to play in the first team, I try to do my best and with regards to mistakes, I think I'm not the only player [to make mistakes], it happens to the best players.
"The critics? They are there as part of our business, they make us good players, better players, and [push us] to not be in the comfort zone."
