Mane to pay millions for punching Sane?

Bayern Munich star Sadio Mane will now reportedly have to fork out millions of rands for his off-field fight with Leroy Sane last week.

Following the now-infamous fight that took place last Tuesday night, the Senegal international was suspended by Bayern for their match against TSG Hoffenheim on Saturday, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Having reportedly left Sane with a swollen and bloodied lip, it was also said the former Liverpool star would receive a fine said to be the biggest the Bundesliga side has ever handed out.

According to the Daily Mail, Mane's fine amounts to more than £250 000, which equates to R5.6 million.

Per Capology, the African superstar earns about £198 000 (R4.4 million) a week in Munich, so this fine would be more than his weekly wage.

It is further claimed that Bayern are now keen to sell Mane at the end of the season, with the 31-year-old having struggled to replicate the form he displayed for the Reds and with his national team at the German giants.

It is said the forward is "aching" for a return to Anfield, but reports suggest that the Merseyside club is not interested in re-signing the player.

Liverpool's hierarchy are believed to have concerns over his longevity, with there being suggestions that he now lacks the speed and thrust that made him such a key player before his Premier League exit last year.
