With N'Golo Kante's big-money transfer to Al Ittihad having been confirmed, Karim Benzema has now sent a message his new teammate in Saudi Arabia.
Despite both French players having signed for the 2022/23 Saudi Pro League champions as free agents, they are set to earn huge salaries in the Middle East country.

According to various reports, the former Real Madrid striker will pocket a hefty £172 million (R4 billion) a year, including bonuses and endorsements, at Ittihad, while his compatriot will take home a sizeable €25 million (R502 million) paycheque per season.
Upon confirmation of the defensive midfielder's signing, the Jeddah club wrote on their official website: "Kante's addition to Al Ittihad is considered one of the most high-profile and impactful signings in the club's history. It is part of the club's efforts to establish itself as a top choice for world-class players in the Saudi Professional League.
"Ittihad Club wishes Kante success in achieving the club's goals and fulfilling the expectations of all the club's fans and supporters during his time with the team."
Benzema himself has since reacted to the transfer, sending Kante a video welcoming him as his newest high-profile teammate.

In the video, the 2022 Ballon d'Or winner can be heard saying: "Hi N'Golo, one time I told you, you're the best player, box to box, in the world.
"Now I'm happy to play with you again, and of course, in the best team in Saudi. See you in Jeddah!"

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Kante is likely to be followed by a number of other Chelsea stars to the Gulf state, with Hakim Ziyech, Edouard Mendy and Kalidou Koulibaly believed to be in negotiations with Saudi teams.
