The Spaniard, who was unveiled in a press conference this afternoon, now makes his return to club management after his hugely successful three-year stint at Barca ended in June 2017, and is tasked with spearheading a project that could be without the club's star player Kylian Mbappe.
The 24-year-old recently confirmed he will no longer be a PSG footballer on 1 July 2024, reportedly prompting the club to put him up for sale, with Real Madrid thought to be his potential next destination.
According to RMC Sport, Enrique has already indicated that he wants to play no part in the Mbappe-PSG standoff, but hopes a solution is found quickly as he wants to be involved in any transfer business needed thereafter.
His appointment comes after it was confirmed earlier on Wednesday that Galtier's contract had been terminated by the club.
