Kane's mouthwatering Bayern Munich salary 'revealed'

With Harry Kane said to have agreed to join Bayern Munich, the mouthwatering salary he has been offered by the German giants has now reportedly been revealed.

On Thursday afternoon, news broke that the two clubs had finally reached an agreement worth more than €100 million (R2 billion) for the England captain after the Bavarians had seen a few earlier bids declined.

It is understood a four-year contract has been agreed with the striker, who looks set to complete a medical for the Bundesliga powerhouses later on Friday.

German outlet Bild has now reported that Kane has said yes to a staggering salary of €25 million (R517 million) gross per year at the Allianz Arena.

According to Sky Sports, however, a spanner may have been thrown in the works.

It is said that while the forward is waiting for permission from Spurs to fly out to get his medical done, the transfer is being delayed as the London club wants to renegotiate some minor details of the deal.

Contrasting reports, though, suggest that the London club is not holding up the deal, and that Kane has been given the go-ahead to make the flight to Germany, with the player said to be hoping to pass a medical and be registered in time for Bayern's Super Cup match against RB Leipzig on Saturday.

While it remains to be seen if the transfer will be completed as many now expect, the move has drawn quite a reaction from pundits and former players alike, with Premier League legend Michael Owen notably opposing the significance of a move to Germany for Kane.

"I know Bayern are a massive club and I have huge respect for them but if I were Kane, I'd stay put," Owen wrote on Twitter on Thursday.

"There's no great achievement in winning a trophy with them, [if it was] Real Madrid I would understand. Or one or two top Premier League clubs for that matter.

"Becoming the all-time Premier League top goalscorer for Spurs is a bigger achievement than winning the league in a country dominated by one team."
