After a gleaming Major League Soccer debut, Lionel Messi could now find himself in hot water in the US.
Messi came off the bench around the hour mark to make his MLS debut for Inter Miami against New York Red Bulls early on Sunday morning, but seemingly broke one of the league's rules minutes after opening his account in the American top flight.

The Argentine scored in the 89th minute to help secure a 2-0 victory for his Miami side, but soon after his goal celebrations, Messi appeared to have got himself into some trouble.
According to Associated Press, Messi violated the league's media rules by not speaking to reporters after the match.

The news outlet further reported that MLS executive vice-president of communications Dan Courtemanche said before the game that all players, including Messi, are required to be available to media after fixtures.
However, Inter Miami spokeswoman Molly Dreska announced after that match that the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner would not be available for reporters after the match, with it since being claimed that Messi may be punished as a result, although a decision on the matter is yet to be made.

The Argentina captain has had a great start to life in America, scoring 11 goals and producing three assists in just 11 appearances for his new side so far, and has already added to his trophy cabinet after helping Inter Miami win the Leagues Cup earlier this month, scoring in the final against Nashville.
