Greenwood: How I feel after leaving Man Utd

Out-on-loan Manchester United outcast Mason Greenwood has opened up and explained how he has been feeling since leaving Old Trafford.

At his Getafe unveiling on Tuesday, the forward spoke to the 5 000-strong crowd at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez and insisted that he "feels quite good" after completing a loan transfer from the Red Devils last Friday.

The 21-year-old received a warm welcome from fans of his new team, with many cheers heard as he was introduced at what will be his home ground for this season.

"I am very happy to be here," Greenwood said during the unveiling, per TEAMtalk.

"I have been training for four or five months, I am getting up to speed and have been training with my teammates and feel quite good.

"We take it one game at a time and the next home game is coming in a few weeks and we will try to win and do our best."

Getafe coach Jose Bordalas is hoping to help the England international rediscover his form.

"Regarding the other issues, I believe that the people and the relevant authorities did what they had to do and everyone knows how it ended with a non-conviction sentence. Therefore, he is a free person, a footballer of a very high level and who arrives at Getafe with enormous enthusiasm and that we are obviously going to help him so that he recovers back to his best level," the Getafe boss told reporters, per Goal.

"We all know the potential he has. He is a very young boy, he is still 21 years old and we can help him adapt to a situation."

The United forward was effectively put on the transfer market after the club decided the time had come for them to part ways with him.

This came after Greenwood was arrested and charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in January 2022.

Just over a year later, those charges were dropped, with the Mancunians then conducting their own internal investigation into the incident and ultimately deciding to help the player find a new club.

Greenwood's last competitive action came for the Red Devils in a 1-0 win over West Ham United at Old Trafford in January 2022, but the forward will now be hoping to make his LALIGA debut when his new side takes on Osasuna after the international break.
