Former Premier League star Harry Kane could have joined a Premier League side instead of Bayern Munich, and why he chose not to, has now been revealed.

The England international scored 213 Premier League goals and had his eye on breaking Alan Shearer's all-time record of 260, and joining Manchester United would have kept the door open to making it into the record books, according to the Daily Mail.
However, it is believed that the Manchester club could not guarantee him a deal if he were to run down the 12 months he had left on his contract at Spurs.
The 30-year-old was reportedly high on Erik ten Hag's transfer shopping list, but the club was faced with the issues of being unable to afford the striker and Daniel Levy's reluctance to sell his star forward to a top flight rival.
Kane is said to have made the decision to join the Bundesliga champions as soon as the Red Devils started pursuing Rasmus Hojlund.
The Manchester side will now go head-to-head against the second highest all-time EPL goal scorer's new side in a UEFA Champions League clash at the Allianz Arena.
Speaking ahead of the game, Kane revealed that his decision to join Bayern is one that he is pleased about making.
"Over the summer I know there were some talks between a few clubs in the background, but Bayern was a team I was really interested by so there weren't many other discussions," Kane said via the Daily Mail.
"My focus is on here, obviously Manchester United are a great club, a really big club as well, but I decided to come here and I'm really happy I have."
Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag expressed no regrets about opting to sign Hojlund instead of the England international.
"We are happy with Rasmus. In the first game, he was injured. He played against Arsenal, he's had a start (against Brighton), and now we have to integrate him in the team. You can see he's a big talent."

The two sides have displayed contrasting form in their respective domestic leagues. Bayern are currently in second place after picking up three wins from their four opening matches, while United sit in a lowly 13th place after a forgettable spell of two wins in five.
