Mamelodi Sundowns legend Lovers Mohalala believes Pitso Mosimane might find it difficult to resurrect the sleeping giant that is Kaizer Chiefs without an open chequebook.

Mohlala feels that for Pirates and Chiefs to be like Sundowns, they need a big budget, and if Jingles does end up joining Chiefs, supporters will need to give him at least three seasons to find the right formula.

The former Downs man also made it clear that it took time for Pitso Mosimane to build a formidable team at Masandawana, mentioning that Chiefs fans can't expect instant miracles from Pitso if he joins the club.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Downs legend: Pitso will need three years to resurrect Chiefs" story:

"Vodacom is giving these guys R100m every year on top of other sponsors. The owners are also rich enough. For me Pirates have the squad and quality to compete against Downs but they need someone who will make them believe in themselves and the process.

"They must be resilient and play for the badge. They must be disciplined and fight hard for one another, create that brotherhood amongst themselves. The management has to be there to support the coach not interfere. Allow the coach to buy players of his choice and you will have a happy squad and consistent results," says Minwana Phezulu.

"Pirates and Chiefs have an annual grant of R1 billion from Vodacom. Thus R500m each per year. It's a huge budget that one. As for Chiefs, I think big salary difference between players is the problem. Dolly, and Khune used to earn triple than eg. Bvuma. That likely creates animosity between players," says Makausemakause53.

"2027!! I can't imagine Chiefs waiting that long, they'll start throwing missiles at Pitso," says His Majesty Yellow PSL Pitbull.

"Pitso learnt to cover his head from missiles when he was with Sundowns. I remember one day at the Dobsonville Stadium, when Swallows were running circles around Downs, Pitso suffered with missiles there," says Danito 4 Life.

"Ferrari - Tazz...nice one...LOL. Well, money is not the problem at Chiefs with so many sponsors than any other team in the PSL. The real problem is buying any available player, half of those players are not good enough for any big team," says Cybock10.

"Nonsense... why plead calmness for Pitso? I just despise the behaviour of being impatient as a whole, whether it is Pitso coming in or whoever. KC fans must know that everything has its own season, it is currently that season for KC where things aren't going our way," says Nkosibenjamin.

"What a sober comment from Lovers, Chiefs will spend another 3 seasons without a trophy," says TT Wale Khosi.

"According to Kaizer Chiefs fans, Gavin Hunt is the best coach in the country. The same Kaizer Chiefs fans said Pitso Mosimane ran away (by joining Al Ahly) from Hunt when he joined their team.
