Rulani: People doubt us but I don't know why

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena says he doesn't know why people continue to doubt the Brazilians.

The Brazilians won their 11th consecutive game since the start of the season after thrashing Cape Town Spurs 3-0 on Wednesday evening with goals from Sipho Mbule, Grant Kekana and Peter Shalulile.

Mokwena said he's happy to see the energy back in his team after making ten changes to the line-up and commended the players for maintaining their standard having played so many games already this campaign.

"Let me start off by congratulating Mamelodi Sundowns, congratulate the supporters for coming out, a decent turnout for a midweek game, congratulations to the coaches, the technical team and to this group of amazing footballers," Mokwena told SuperSport TV.

"And I'm just happy to see the team, I haven't seen the team in a very long time, good to see the team again.

"Much better, there's a lot of reasons for that. The boys are trying, this is an amazing group of players, to do what they're doing is not easy in a difficult period. 31 games already, how do you do that with training sessions, corrections, the analysis and the coach that keeps on pushing you and never satisfied," he said.

"So I'm very proud of this group of players and sometimes we have to appreciate them more than we do you know. They deserve more love and support because they do incredible things, they are so focused and they keep going, they represent this club with aplomb, so magnificent group."

The 36-year-old coach continued and said he was happy to see players who have been out for a long time return to the line-up.

"So good to see (Abubaker) Nasir on the pitch, even when Bongani Zungu came in, Ntando (Nkosi) the young one, high level of maturity," he went on.

"Thapelo (Morena) played three positions today, Terrence (Mashego) played three positions, in and out of possession, so we always do crazy things but amazing.

"We just keep going, let's finish the year strong, sometimes people doubt us but I don't know why but anyway that's life and that's football."
