Barcelona make shock 'decision' ahead January window

Struggling FC Barcelona are now said to have made a major decision regarding the January transfer window.

The Blaugrana have been in declining form in recent weeks, with the club winless in three of their past five LALIGA games, seeing them drop to fourth on the league table.

Some have criticised manager Xavi Hernandez for their current plight, while others have pointed the finger at seemingly out-of-form players such as Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha.

The club's financial issues are well-documented and continue to persist, with Spanish publication Relevo now claiming that the Catalan giants are struggling to secure €40 million (R804 million) from the 29.5% sale of Barça Studios to German investment fund Libero Football Finance.

It is said that the Spanish outfit now need to find another investor to help them manage their financial needs in the short term.

This has since reportedly prompted a bold move from the decision-makers at the club, who are now said to have decided to put all their players up for sale.

It is claimed Barca are willing to listen to offers for any member of their squad in the January window, with none of their players deemed untouchable.

The report also states that Lewandowski, Andreas Christensen, and Jules Kounde, in particular, are three of their high-profile stars being considered surplus to requirement at the moment.

There have also been reports suggesting that Ferran Torres could also be on his way out, with his representatives believed to not be entirely happy with the way Xavi has treated the player.

Star defender Ronald Araujo was linked with a shock move to Bayern Munich several weeks ago, but, at the time, Barca maintained that he was in their long-term plans.

Meanwhile, Lewandowski's agent Pini Zahavi reportedly met with Barcelona president Joan Laporta on Tuesday evening, and following a brief interaction with the media, the agent responded to rumours around his client's future

"Lewa's future? He's staying at Barcelona, of course," Zahavi said, according to Barca Universal.
