Masilela: Sundowns are going to break their own record

Mamelodi Sundowns legend Joel Masilela has backed the defending DStv Premiership champions to break their record for most wins in a league campaign.

Rulani Mokwena's charges take on Cape Town City at DHL Cape Town Stadium on Sunday afternoon, aiming for a 12th straight league win.

The Brazilias currently hold the record most wins in a 30-game season with 22 victories, which they set in the 2015/2016 campaign.

"From now on when Sundowns plays we expect good results," Masilela tells KickOff.

"Sundowns will go to Cape Town and try to keep their winning momentum going.

"Sundowns they are going to win on Sunday, even if they only score one goal it will be enough.

"They don't need to score four or five goals to win this one, what they need is three points.

"The only thing they need to do is to keep the clean sheet. It's not going to be an easy game though because every team they play against tries to prove a point.

"Sundowns they are on song at the moment, for Cape Town City to cause an upset in this one they will need a miracle.

"Honestly I don't see any team stopping Sundowns at the moment in our league.

"I promise you one thing, Sundowns are hoping to win all their remaining league matches.

"Sundowns got depth, got quality, and a good technical team.

"I see Sundowns breaking their record of being the team with the most league wins in a single season.

"Their biggest strength is on their technical team, and coaches Rulani Mokwena and Manqoba Mnqithi."
